Our Philosophy
Due diligence is central to effective philanthropy. We devote a great deal of effort to evaluating nonprofit organizations based on their fiscal efficiency and their programs' effectiveness. We research independent charity evaluation websites such as Charity Navigator, GuideStar, CharityWatch, and Better Business Bureau. We review charities' IRS forms 990. When possible, we ask people on the ground which organizations are making the biggest difference.
Central to our philanthropic activities is the belief that we're all in this together: rich and poor, developed and developing, all races, creeds, and cultures. We live in a country with staggering wealth, and we have the ability to achieve stunning results.
